ABOUT
NEHAMA is a French artist, born in Casablanca (Morocco) in 1962. He currently lives between Paris & Johannesburg.
Nehama studied creative writing and photography at Boston University. He worked as a copywriter, screenwriter, war reporter and independent photographer.
His latest series, THE ART OF BEING ALONE (In the future everyone will want to be anonymous for 15 minutes) was exhibited in a solo show at THE NATIVE NATION GALLERY in 2019.
Nehama body of work is inspired by Africa, its culture, beliefs, strong visual and spiritual landscape. By using collages, texts, vintage textures, he creates a language of the strange that can at times be disturbing but also translate into poetic representations of transcendent forces.
TALES TO ENTERTAIN THE DEAD ( The Story of a spell ) in four volumes has been 10 years in the making.
